How are ACMF’s music programs different to ordinary music classes?
Our teachers are talented musicians and are specially selected, based on their ability to connect with, effectively educate and understand children. Our teachers are passionate, energetic and compassionate. Many of the children we teach have suffered trauma and consequently can be far more challenging to teach and engage. ACMF music classes are designed to be an outlet for all children to create, learn, laugh and express themselves in a positive way.
Our school doesn’t have a music program or funding for one. Are you able to assist?
We are always interested in starting new programs, depending on funding opportunities. Please contact us at [email protected] for more information.
How much does it cost to run an ACMF program?
Our programs cost on average $30,000 per year. This allows us to employ a speciality music teacher to implement a weekly music program in a disadvantaged school or juvenile justice centre as well as provide instruments for at least one year.
Is the ACMF interested in working with other organisations?
Yes! Where possible, we are always interested in working with like minded organisations to develop music and the arts in Australia. We have a number of partners who we have worked with very successfully. Please contact us at [email protected] for more information.
Are you a funding body?
The ACMF is a charity that raises funds to conduct music programs. We rely on funding from external organisations and companies to support and run our programs. We are always looking for funding to help support our programs. Please contact us at [email protected] if you’re able to help.
I would like to donate on a monthly/annual basis – is this possible?
Absolutely. We can arrange a secure payment process through our finance department. You can make a donation, no matter how small, here. If this is something you would like to know more about, please email [email protected].
Do you provide instruments to young people in need who are not participating in an ACMF program?
Where possible, the ACMF will send donated instruments to individuals in need or other organisations assisting them, which we have identified. Depending on location of the donated instrument/s and the recipient, there may be shipping and handling costs involved.
I would like to get involved in the exciting music programs and become an ACMF music teacher. How could I do this?
We would love to have you on board! Please contact our office on [email protected] for more information.
Can I volunteer with the ACMF?
Definitely! We have events all year round with the ACMF that we need volunteers for, whether it is ushering, handing out flyers, selling merchandise, or having an ACMF presence at an event. Please email us at [email protected] for more information.
Can I donate an instrument to the ACMF?
The ACMF is often in need of good quality musical instruments for our music programs. Please note:
- We can’t accept all instruments – it depends on supply and demand, program/instrument location and their condition.
- We can’t accept donations of acoustic pianos (upright or grand) or organs.
- If we can’t use the instrument for our programs , we may be able to suggest another organisation who can.
