Our ACMF Gala Event at The Ivy was a success and a night to remember. It brought together an incredible community of musicians, industry leaders, philanthropists, and supporters to celebrate the transformative power of music education.
We are thrilled to announce that the event was a phenomenal success, raising over $100,000. This will ensure more children across Australia have access to music. The overwhelmingly positive feedback from guests underscored a shared belief that music is not just a past time – it’s a lifeline.
Inspiring Performances and Personal Stories
The night began with a moving performance by 38 students from St. Mary St. Joseph. It was a perfect and timely reminder that 2 in 3 kids are currently missing out on a music education. Our exceptional MC, Rob Mills, a long-time ACMF ambassador and board member, kept the energy high with a brilliant performance of “Feeling Good” and a Q&A with students’ teacher Rachel Scott and Principal John Farrell.
The stage was graced by a host of other incredible talents who donated their time and passion. The audience was captivated by a breathtaking performance from Lani Mapapalangi and Bailey Pickles, whose personal journeys with music beautifully demonstrated the life-changing power of our programs. Five-time ARIA award winner Meg Washington shared a heartfelt set, revealing how music helped her overcome her stutter. This powerful moment highlighted how music can serve as an essential tool for self-expression and confidence.

High-Profile Support for a Vital Cause
The evening was made even more special by the high-profile support of state and federal government representatives. Ms. Susan Templeman MP, the Federal Special Envoy for the Arts, and Mr. Ben Franklin MLC, President of the NSW Legislative Council. Both spoke passionately about the importance of music education and how music had impacted their lives.
Ms. Templeman acknowledged there is inequity of access to music education. She said to address this requires a collective effort from government, industry, and organisations like the ACMF. Their presence and words were a powerful testament to our work and impact.
Fundraising and Awareness
The success of the evening was a direct result of the incredible generosity shown in our auctions and pledges. Money raised will fund our programs, helping us give thousands of children across Australia the opportunity to experience the joy and developmental benefits of a music education. Beyond the financial success, the event also achieved a critical objective: raising increased awareness among our audience about the urgent issue of music education access inequity.
