We often talk about the transformative power of music, and recently, we witnessed this firsthand at the Wingham ANZAC Day Ceremony. The Wingham Brush Public School choir, with support from one of their dedicated ACMF teachers, delivered a moving performance that embodied the spirit of remembrance and respect.
The choir’s repertoire included Lee Kernaghan’s “Spirit of the ANZAC” and the National Anthem. For these young students, many of whom are just beginning to explore the world of singing, performing in front of a large audience was a significant step. Their participation in such a solemn occasion was a testament to their courage and developing confidence.
As one teacher noted, the experience was an “awesome” one for these young lives, one that will undoubtedly contribute to their personal development. It was heartening to see the students “step up” to the occasion, demonstrating a deep understanding of the event’s significance while showcasing their musical talents. The performance not only honored the ANZACs but also brought great pride to their school community.
This event exemplifies the core of what ACMF strives to achieve in providing opportunities for children to express themselves, connect with their community, and build confidence through music.
