The Australian Children’s Music Foundation was incredibly fortunate to be the beneficiary of The Sound of Rêverie Classical Music Concert, held on 14 September.
Arranged by the Chen family, and led by the eldest sibling Freda, The Sound of Rêverie initiative brought together talented young musicians from the Canterbury-Bankstown, St George and Sutherland, Liverpool, Lower North Shore, and Eastern Suburbs areas in Sydney, to form a Chamber Ensemble, with many of the performers hailing from St George’s Hurstville Anglican Church.
The concert featured performances of pieces by Vivaldi, Wieniawski, Brahms, and Boccherini, along with traditional Chinese Guzheng, and raised just under $1500 for our charity to support the work we do.
Instruments the Chen family plays:
- Freda Chen (Year 11): French Horn, Cornet, and Tenor Horn
- Matthew Chen (Year 7): Cello and Vocal
- Isaac Chen (Year 4): Flute and Double Bass
- Ethan Chen (Year 2): Violin and French Horn
