Entries are now OPEN for the National Songwriting Competition 2024

We are thrilled to announce the National Songwriting Competition is back for 2024 and entries are now open!

Now in its 22nd year, this free, nationwide initiative encourages creativity and self-expression through songwriting. All  school-aged children from across Australia are encouraged to put pen-to-paper and enter their original song. This competition allows entrants to reflect and use music and song to interpret difficult circumstances, overcome challenges, and truly express themselves.

This year, we are excited for the inclusion of a new prize – The School Prize! Students are encouraged to collaborate with their peers to create an original song, with the prize awarded to the most creative and original entry. The winning primary school entry receives $500 and the winning high school entry receives an APRA AMCOS SongMakers workshop delivered at the winning school by world-class Australian songwriters and producers, valued at almost $10,000.

Entries close 16 September 2024.
