The Australian Children’s Music Foundation held its inaugural Magic of Music Soiree at the Australian Institute of Music. Raising awareness of the Foundation and the importance of music education for children, the evening commenced with a moving performance by ACMF students of “We are Australian” sung in Indigenous language and performed in Auslan.
Following this was an insightful and informative panel discussion moderated by Ed St John (Chair of AIM), discussing the benefits of music learning and education across the many settings we deliver programs. The panel consisted of Monica Lee (Music Therapist, Sydney Children’s Hospital), Chris Koelma (Director of Music/ International Schools), Latifa Tee (triple J host and DJ), and Rachel Scott (ACMF teacher).
This was followed by and incredible performance from Lachie Gill – the winner of The Voice in 2022.
We are so grateful to the event sponsors: Australian Institute of Music, Penfolds and Kate Spade.
A huge thank you to all our volunteers including the students from Redlands. To everybody who joined us, we hope you enjoyed the evening and now understand a little more about the work of the Australian Children’s Music Foundation. We look forward to seeing you all at our next event.
