The ACMF proudly announce our partnership with Lotterywest in delivering long-term music workshops and tuition across a large number of schools in the Goldfields-Esperance Region as well as the Kalgoorlie PCYC.
Since the program began at the beginning of term two, we have visited Kalgoorlie launching the programs with the support of the Minster of Kalgoorlie – Ali Kent, who officially announced the commencement of the “Hearts Of Gold” project.
The reception from all of the students and schools has been overwhelmingly positive. Our dynamic ACMF music teachers are working hard and are already making a difference to both the emotional and mental wellbeing on the children in the region. South Kalgoorlie Primary School are currently producing a new school anthem to be sung in language and have started a school choir. The PCYC have created a dedicated music room which is now filled with all the instruments purchased for the music program and the after-school music program is already delivering results. In term 3 the very talented and passionate Barefoot Bands along with our ACMF teachers will be mentoring, writing and producing a RAP song with a number of the students in the music program.
It has been a wonderful start and we will continue to share with you the progress as these music programs continue to unfold.
