The Sunday Song – Written by Taree Support Unit ACMF Music Students
Beloved ACMF Music Teacher Matt Zarb has been teaching at Taree High School for many years. Recently, the Taree High Support Unit students were inspired to write their own song, entitled “The Sunday Song”, and had the opportunity to record a professional film-clip together, with the support of teaching staff and crew.
The idea for the song came when in response to their teacher saying “It’s Friday morning once again”, a student responded “I can’t wait for this day to end!”
Lesson after lesson, week after week they worked together building the song, developing rhyming, and thinking about how much they all love the weekend, and never want Sunday to end.
Learning music has proven to show remarkable benefits for children with special learning needs – giving them the joy and confidence to engage with learning, and with life!
See film clip below, featuring ACMF Founder and CEO Don Spencer OAM singing along for the film-clip recording at Jake Davey Studios.
