Entries to the 2019 ACMF National Song writing Competition are NOW OPEN!

The Australian Children’s Music Foundation is hosting its 17th annual National Song writing Competition, and 2019 entries are NOW OPEN!

Every year, students from schools across Australia are invited to put pen to paper and enter their original song. Winners receive prize-money which can be allocated towards musical equipment or tuition.

With over $22,000 in prize money to be won it represents a great opportunity not only for individual students, but to participate in the competition AS A SCHOOL.

SCHOOLS HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO WIN THE NEWLY INTRODUCED “SONG WRITING SCHOOL OF THE YEAR” AWARD – AND $5000 IN PRIZE MONEY.

This new category allows schools to enter a song as a school group and win a prize of $5,000.

This will enable the winning school to purchase valuable resources to start or improve their school music program, which aligns with the ACMF’s overarching belief that no child should be deprived of access to a music education.

We encourage ALL STUDENTS AND SCHOOLS in Australia to apply.

It’s easy to enter – students simply upload a recording and lyrics to their song using the online entry form on our website – www.acmf.com.au

Entry to the competition is FREE!
As a non-profit organisation, the ACMF rely on donations to continue bringing music education programs and initiatives like these to disadvantaged children throughout Australia.

A tax-deductible donation of any amount would be greatly appreciated. CLICK HERE TO GIVE THE GIFT OF MUSIC TO A CHILD IN NEED.

We need your help spreading the word! Please spread the word to your teachers and colleagues who are involved in music or creative arts – including anybody who may wish to encourage their child to try their hand at song writing (a highly creative process).

Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity for students to build confidence, learning abilities, allowing them the opportunity to work together and unleash their musical potential!

Research shows that learning music is of CRUCIAL benefit to the development of a young mind. Yet, a growing number of school children in Australia (over 65%) do not have access to a specialist music teacher.

The ACMF National Song writing Competition encourages students to freely express themselves, and engage in learning in a fun and creative way!
