The power of song-writing…
Here’s a beautiful story from one of our programs, and really shines a light of the power of song-writing. So many of our programs encourage children to write their own songs – and this is the perfect example of why.
“For one of our students, his journey though early teenage years has been filled with violence, hurt, neglect and disappointments. He found that writing his story and developing it into a musical piece was extremely healing and empowering. His performance at the whole of term assembly was extremely powerful and left the audience in awe. No dry eyes in the whole gymnasium. Currently, this young man is within the community and in the process of making a recording of this musical piece. As an inspiration to others, we have invited him back to the centre next year to showcase his music and share his story. We are very proud of his achievement.”
