Six ACMF students off to Gondwana choir camp!

Here’s some news just in from Erica Byrne, who works for the Gondwana Choir……

At the end of May, Gondwana Choirs held its first Sydney Combined camp which saw its three Sydney Indigenous choirs come  together;  the Inner Sydney Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir, the Campbelltown Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir and our Mt Druitt Indigenous Children’s Choir.

The camp was held at Naamaroo Uniting Conference Centre and during the course of the weekend, choristers worked with Conductors Lyn Williams OAM, Liz Vierboom, Atalya Masi and pianist and co-conductor Jem Harding.

The choristers extended themselves musically and finished the camp with a performance at the Maritime Mueseum along with the Sydney Children’s Choirs choir.  The concert was a great success with approximately 400 people in attendance. Gondwana is extremely excited and proud especially of our newly formed Inner Sydney Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir.

There were six choristers at the camp  involved in the Inner Sydney Gondwana choir that are from our ACMF program at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, in Waterloo. Well done you lovely girls! We’re all really proud of you here!
