Spectacular singing in Sydney!
Last week, the auditioning team from Gondwana Indigenous Children’s Choir came to visit Our Lady of Mount Carmel School where we have had a music program running for a number of years. Over the last year, the choir program at the school has just blossomed, growing from 12 interested children to over fifty. Ten children auditioned for Gondwana – and ten children were successful! Erica Byrne, from Gondwana, said that this was the first time this had ever happened in the history of the choir. When ACMF teacher Rachel Scott started at the school there was very little singing – and now it is just a part of school life, just like maths and literacy.
Well done all you auditioning singers!
