Meet ACMF Teacher Penny Jarman
Penny teaches for us at the Murri School (Aboriginal and Islander Community School), in Brisbane. She’s a guitarist, ukulele player and a really loved ACMF teacher.
We asked her a few questions, and this is what she said….
“What do you most like about your teaching for the ACMF?”
I love getting to know my students and seeing them flourish in different areas. We learnt ukulele this year and one of my students in particular loved it so much that her guardians bought her a ukulele and she would bring it into school and ask me to tune it for her and sometimes we would have a little jam before class started.
What has surprised you the most in your ACMF teaching?
I have been pleasantly surprised by the information that my students retain and the small pieces of information that have made an impact. In talking to my kids and asking them about the different things we have learnt it is awesome to hear the things that they come up with (that even I have forgotten).
Here’s Penny singing and playing….
