Camerata Academica of the Antipodes and the ACMF
Australia’s new chamber orchestra, Camerata Academica of the Antipodes, is a supporter of the Australian Children’s Music Foundation. The Camerata was founded in 2014 by musicologist and performer Dr Imogen Coward, together with her brothers Taliesin Coward and Leon Coward and a group of talented young multi-instrumentalists. It brings together an exciting and diverse group of music researchers, scholar-performers and advanced music students, many of whom have been/are the recipients of prestigious awards for music performance and/or research.
Following on from the tradition set by the Coward Family & Friends concerts, the Camerata raised funds for the ACMF, presenting two concerts chock-full of beautiful music and with an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, to a full house of enthusiastic Sydney concert-goers (many of whom were attending a classical music event for the first time). The Camerata’s 2015 events will once again support the ACMF’s work. Check out the Camerata’s website for reviews, and details of forthcoming events and guest performers www.camerataantipodes.com.au
