ACMF CONNECT Professional Development videos
This fabulous Year 5 class at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Waterloo were filmed today as part of a series of professional development demonstration videos for teachers.
ACMF teacher and curriculum adviser Rachel Scott conducted ‘the band’while they played percussion on upturned school chairs.
The students played different parts of the piece music on different parts of the chairs which, in turn, produced a variety of sounds when hit by the claves. The professional development videos are part of the ACMF CONNECT program which aims to increase the music skills and knowledge of generalist primary teachers and increase their confidence to teach music to students in their own classroom.
The OLMC students were ‘a class act’ and played the chairs with precision and gusto! Well done!
