ACO/ ACMF Online Resource Project
On Wednesday 16th July, ACMF teacher and curriculum advisor Rachel Scott spent the day at the Australian Chamber Orchestra studios, Sydney filming an exciting new teacher resource with musicians Helena Rathbone, Aiko Goto, Nikki Divall and Julian Thompson from the ACO.
The forty minute lesson is based around an arrangement of Mozart’s ‘Rondo Alla Turca’ – the third movement from his piano sonata no. 11. The online lesson, for children from Years 3-6, will focus on instrument and thematic recognition – the children will listen to the piece and then play an interactive mapping game as the musicians play.
Rachel says…. “It was great fun to record – lots of fabulous playing from these four wonderful musicians. Even after hearing countless takes, I was so inspired by their music-making. I can’t wait to see children respond to this!” Stay tuned for more news once the editing process begins….
