ACMF CONNECT Professional Development for Teachers

ACMF CONNECT Professional Development for Teachers

Over the last 12 months, with generous help from the Australian Chamber Orchestra, a self-sustaining music programme has been developed for generalist primary teachers in the Little Bay Community of Schools, Sydney.  ACMF teacher and curriculum advisor, Rachel Scott delivered the third professional development session for all the teachers involved in the programme on Monday July 14, at Matraville Public School.  Two term’s-worth of music lessons have been written for all year groups in primary school for teachers to deliver in their classrooms as part of their weekly learning.

Some comments from teachers were…..

– “I am not musical at all, but found Rachel’s workshops a lot of fun and I’ve learnt a lot. The kids love it!”

– “The lesson plans are easy to implement. I feel comfortable delivering the lessons and they are enjoyable for both me and my students.”

– “The programme is very explicit and easy to teach. My students love music time. I LOVE teaching music now!”
