Music therapy makes a difference
Thanks to Allphones Arena, a very special little girl, three year old Talyn Reedy, enjoyed a magical night out at Disney On Ice last Sunday.
Talyn has a rare disorder that causes inflammation of her spinal cord, and has been a patient at Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick since April this year. Matt Ralph, our wonderful ACMF music therapist at the hospital, chose Talyn to receive the Allphones Arena tickets.
He visits Talyn each week to sing and play music with her – he describes his job as healing her spirit while the hospital heals her body. Her mother Emma says Tayln’s ‘eyes light up’ whenever her Matt the Music Man arrives. Talyn was thrilled by the show, her first night out at the theatre, and her mother was full of praise for the All Phone Arena staff, who went out of their way to help, getting her wheelchair in and out and making sure the little girl, and her Mum, had a wonderful night.
