New Program at Albion Primary School, Melbourne
In September last year we started a new program at Albion Primary School in the Sunshine area of Melbourne, a low socio-economic school with students from more than 60 different nationalities. The musician teaching the program, Phil Collings, is also new to the ACMF. He’s a professional drummer and percussionist who performs and tours both nationally and internationally. After only a few weeks of the program, the Principal commented that the students were loving the program and that it was already ‘having an impact on attendance – I have heard children say, “I can’t be away on Friday, we have drumming.” ‘
