Tamworth Songwriters Association Awards 2013
Brisbane based ACMF music teacher, Paul Bonner Jones, recently presented 2 awards on behalf of the ACMF at the Tamworth Songwriters Association (TSA) Awards. The ACMF sponsors both the Songwriters’ Salute Award for the Australian Children’s Song of the Year and the Junior National Songwriting Contest.
Alita Fahey was announced winner of the Children’s Song of the Year in the Salute Award for “I Should Have Listened” and we were delighted that previous ACMF National Songwriting Competition winner, Angus Will, from Wauchope in NSW, won the National Country Songwriting Contest for his composition “Names Upon the Wall” a tribute to fallen ANZACs.
President of the TSA, Duncan Hill, reported that it was an excellent night with a lot of positive feedback saying, “People are really interested in hearing writers perform their own songs”.
