Impact after the Navy Band visit to Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Waterloo
“Today was a great day for my little people. We were lucky enough for the band from the Royal Australian Navy to come out to visit us (for the second time!) for a concert. Not only was the whole school treated to a 50 minute concert, but year 5 were lucky enough to play 15 litre water bottles with them for a version of ‘Waltzing Matilda’.

Here are some comments from the year 5 students about the Navy Band visit:
“When I was with the Navy Band the school had a chance to ask questions about the instruments and an instrument was made out of an apple tree. People had a chance to conduct the Navy Band and dance. They sang four song and four OLMC children got to perform and show us how to dance.”
“I enjoyed when the Navy Band came ot our school because they performed professionially. I like the rock band because I got to dance with my kindergarten buddy.”
“When the Navy Band played instruments that I’ve never seen before I was really amazed at what sound came out of it. I was really impressed about what hands they have to play with their instruments.”
