SUPPORT

More than 75% of public schools in Australia do not have the funds to provide a specialised music teacher. Therefore, many children and youth are unable to enjoy the many proven benefits of a music education.

The ACMF is keen to develop new relationships and partnerships to help us deliver music programs to children and communities around Australia, particularly the disadvantaged and indigenous. The ACMF passionately believes that no child should be deprived of access to a music education. We believe that this should be a right, not a privilege.

Here’s how you or your organisation could make a difference.

BECOME A VOLUNTEER
The ACMF always has tasks and events on the go for which we would love to have you on board. There are many benefits to becoming a volunteer, including:

- Providing valuable work experience
- Giving back to the community
- Putting your specialist skills and energy to work for our cause

BECOME A PARTNER
The ACMF is always keen to develop new partnerships to help us change children’s lives through the magic of music.

This may involve pro-bono support, in-kind goods and services, financial support and/or information services.

Many of our partners find an ongoing relationship with ACMF is an effective way of demonstrating corporate and social responsibility. It’s also a great way to get your staff involved through our Volunteer program.

HOST A FUNDRAISING EVENT
Another way to help the ACMF enrich the lives of children and communities across Australia is to hold a fundraising event.

It could either be a one-off, or an on-going initiative. For example:

- Run a school fundraiser or mufti day.
- Hold an office 'casual clothes' day.
- Host a music performance or karaoke night
- Take part in an organised community event (eg City To Surf or the Cole Classic Swim) on behalf of the ACMF, or sponsor an ACMF Participant through Everyday Hero.

FREE INSTRUMENTS
The ACMF provides free instruments to disadvantaged children and youth across Australia. Thousands of instruments have been donated to ACMF schools, remote indigenous communities and Juvenile Justice Centres which run our Music Programs, as well as to community groups and other non-profit organisations such the Mirabel Foundation, NAPCAN and Mission Australia. We also donate instruments to detainees who have shown particular commitment and ability on their release, and to individuals in difficult circumstances who are unable to purchase instruments to continue their music studies.

- Do you have any instruments that are no longer used?
- Do you know someone in need of a particular instrument?
